meet Lauren

Lauren SLater Siegmund

Lauren is a strategic leader and trusted advisor to mission-driven organizations navigating growth, complexity, and change. With 15 years of deep experience in the nonprofit, and education sectors, she brings clarity and structure to visionary work — helping executive teams set bold goals and build the systems to reach them.

Lauren specializes in strategic planning, organizational design, operations, and people-centered leadership. She excels in managing up, supporting CEOs and executive teams to prioritize effectively, communicate with intention, and move their work forward without losing sight of the details that matter. A values-driven leader, Lauren centers diversity, equity, inclusion, and liberation in everything she builds.

In 2025, Lauren currently serves as Fractional Chief of Staff to Sicangu CDC, where she is leading their strategic planning process, guiding internal change management, and supporting mission and values alignment across the organization. She also provides strategic advising and hiring support to the American Flood Coalition, helping grow its team and infrastructure in response to increasing demand for its work.

Lauren began her career in New York City public schools as a high school English and middle school Writing teacher. Since then, she has held senior roles across local and global nonprofits, with a focus on designing systems that honor people and purpose. She holds a Master of Science in Teaching from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Boston University. She has completed advanced coursework in nonprofit budgeting (Duke University) and facilitation and group performance transformation (Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership).

Outside of work, you’ll find Lauren running slowly, practicing yoga, or making pottery in her home studio. She lives in Aurora, CO, with her husband, son, and their dog.
