Growing up, Howard Slater (z''l), was the kind of dreamer who had big plans for his children and their future. The grandson of Jewish immigrants who fled the pogroms in Eastern Europe, Howard built a small business with a bold name: A Conceptual Company. It was quirky. It was hopeful. And it was driven by his philosophy, "You can't run the company until you've driven the truck." Howard did just that: he earned his Commercial Driver License (CDL), drove a truck, worked in the warehouse, and held every possible role at the companies he led before stepping into executive leadership, so that every decision he made as a leader could be rooted in real experience.

Conceptual Consulting was born from that same spirit. In 2021, Lauren Slater Siegmund, Howard's youngest daughter, founded Conceptual Consulting. Today, Conceptual Consulting is no longer a solo pursuit; our group has now grown to include a top-notch team of nonprofit leaders, coaches, and strategists who believe in big ideas and have the follow-through to help you bring those ideas to fruition.
